New York Hall of Science with Seminar

This past Friday, May 17, I had the opportunity to visit the New York Hall of Science as part of its annual STEM Career Expo. It was a free event where participants can hear from STEM leaders as well as network with them. Some of the speakers were Brendan Chan from Google and Kurt Young, a creative director from Mokuni Games. Besides the speaker, there were many organizations with booths to promote their programs such as the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers that gave information on an upcoming scholarship.

At the end of the program, there were demonstrations of scientific research. I do not remember the actual scientific details, but one demonstration involved putting water, dry ice, and ping-pong balls into a trash can. After a few seconds, the trash can exploded causing the balls to fly everywhere which captivated the audience. Overall, the Career Expo was a great experience.
