Lab 36: Speech Synthesis

Link to Lab 36:

This lab was very interesting because we were creating a webpage that would take whatever text we input and a voice would repeat it. There are also additional features such as the voice that repeats the text can be changed, as well as the speed of which it is said and the pitch. This lab was created using a lot of constants that mainly stored the values of the buttons, sliders, and text box. There were also functions that made changing the voice possible and other actions. Finally, there were quite a few event listeners that handled the voices as well as the actual performance of the computer speaking. I believe this lab could be very important because with this we could use it for the visually impaired or even make it so the website can be translated into different languages. Overall, this lab has the potential to make all our websites more accessible to others.
